Signal Driven Multiplexing of Silicon Photomultiplier Arrays

چکیده
SensL C-, Jand R-Series SiPM sensors have a fast, capacitively coupled output that gives a high speed output signal, which is suitable for timing applications. Summing the fast output directly is not recommended as this would negatively affect the resulting signal. By introducing a diode pair (fast Schottky) as shown in Figure 1, the Fast signal from the active SiPM is transferred to the Common Readout node while the Fast outputs of the remaining pixels in the array are effectively isolated from the Common Readout node.

Initial results of simultaneous PET/MRI experiments with an MRI-compatible silicon photomultiplier PET scanner.
UNLABELLED The most investigated semiconductor photosensor for MRI-compatible PET detectors is the avalanche photodiode (APD). However, the silicon photomultiplier (SiPM), also called the Geiger-mode APD, is gaining attention in the development of the next generation of PET/MRI systems because the SiPM has much better performance than the APD. We have developed an MRI-compatible PET system base...

The advent of GMR magnetic sensors and GMR sensor arrays with frequencyindependent sensitivity offers improvements in speed, depth, and resolution in eddy-current testing. Arrays of GMR magnetic sensors allow rapid scanning of an area for defects in a single pass. The small size and low power consumption of these solid-state magnetic sensors enable the fabrication of compact arrays of sensors o...
متن کاملCMOS Solid-State Photomultiplier for Detecting Scintillation Light in Harsh Environments
A CMOS SSPM coupled to a scintillation crystal uses an array of CMOS Geiger-mode avalanche photodiode (GPD) pixels to collect light and produce a signal proportional to the energy of the radiation. Each pixel acts as a binary photon detector, but the summed output is an analog representation of the total photon intensity. We have fabricated arrays of GPD pixels in a CMOS environment, which make...

The Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) are the new step in the development of the mod‐ ern detection structures in the area of low photon flux detection with a unique capa‐ bility of detection up to the single photons. The Silicon Photomultiplier intrinsically represents a digital signal source on the elementary cell level. The materials and tech‐ nology of SiPMs are consistent with the modern el...
متن کاملA single-photon sampling architecture for solid-state imaging sensors
Advances in solid-state technology have enabled the development of silicon photomultiplier sensor arrays capable of sensing individual photons. Combined with high-frequency time-todigital converters (TDCs), this technology opens up the prospect of sensors capable of recording with high accuracy both the time and location of each detected photon. Such a capability could lead to significant impro...
